Week 10 - Twitter!

Armed with a bit of knowledge about what Twitter is all about, share your thoughts on this fast growing online phenomenon.

First off, I think Twitter is a bizarre bizarre website. The simple fact of letting the world know what you are doing at every minute, every hour, every second just boggles my mind. But of course, not every one does tweet about everything that's happening to them at every second.

I personally signed up for Twitter about 6 months ago since I wanted to be updated on all the upcoming shows that some of my favourite youtube artists would be performing at. I thought it was a great way to stay connected and be "in the know" but it got a little frustrating when I would have mass tweets from everyone and my home page would be full of new tweets to read.

Nonetheless, I can see how Twitter can be so addicting since you can follow your favourite singer/actors/actresses and always know what they are doing!

Week 9 Post - LibraryThing

Was the site user-friendly? Did you find it difficult to navigate?

The website was easy to navigate and user-friendly. The tabs were extremely helpful, easy to read and straightforward. I can definitely see this website being used by those who are tech-savvy and want a place to catalogue their books online -especially since everyone nowadays are always on the computer!

This website is also a great way to connect with other book lovers out there since there is an area where you can join in on forums and groups.

Another great thing about this website is that it provides you with detailed descriptions on every book and you're also able to read reviews from other people as well!

Week 8 Post - Online Productivity Tools

Do you see yourself using these tools or will you stick to more traditional methods. If you were to use one of these tools regularly, which would it be and why?

Yes I do see myself using these tools especially the Google Calander! I wish I had known about this earlier because it would have really come in handy for me. I think that having your schedule accessible online is great because sometimes I do forget my calender notebook and I have no idea of remembering what I have booked for certain days -especially when my supervisor asks me if I'm free to take a shift or two.

I find that nowadays, everything we do revolves around the internet and it's a shame that children of this generation are not growing up with more traditional methods of play, such as enjoying the beautiful summer weather outside instead of being housed inside four walls playing various computer games!

So when I learned that you can have your calender accessible online I just thought about all the crazy tools and resources that are now becoming available to this tech-savvy world of ours.

Week 7 Post - Flickr and Youtube

Youtube is my absolute number 1 favourite website. It's a must checked website everytime I log onto my computer. I think it's extremely user friendly, even though the layout has changed a bit a couple of weeks ago (I'm still trying to familiarize myself with it since I'm so used to the old layout!) By subscribing to the channels you enjoy, it allows you to keep track of your favourites and updates you whenever a new video is posted.

Before joining Youtube, I never understood what was so great about it...until I tried it myself. I first searched for songs on Youtube and I started to subscribe to a few musicians since at the time, I was very interested in learning how to play the guitar. This then led me to branch out to dancing videos and comedians and eventually to makeup/health and beauty (I've always had a fascination with makeup even though I myself don't wear any).

Lately, I've been treating Youtube like T.V! I have a whole variety of subscriptions and I love how there is always something for me to watch when I sign in. It's never boring and I'm always entertained. Youtube has become the new "Facebook" for me.

Even though I don't spend as nearly as much time on Flickr than I do on Youtube, I still find Flickr to be a great website to store and upload your photos. It's quite similar to an online album! It's also a very neat place to find pictures for projects and assignments.
